Daily Silver News: April 15 – Silver Trading Above $28

Silver price retreated from a new medium-term high on Friday.

The silver futures contract gained 0.28% on Friday, April 12, as it backed off from a new medium-term high of $29.91 after rallying due to Middle East tensions and stronger U.S. dollar.

On March 21, silver failed to break above its early December local high of $26.34, backing off from the $26 level. Since then, it has been relatively weaker than gold.

Today, silver is bouncing from below $28 level, as we can see on the daily chart (the chart includes today’s intraday data):

The silver price is 0.8% higher, as it is trading along the $28.50 level. What about the other precious metals? Gold is 0.1% higher, platinum is 0.2% lower and palladium is 0.2% higher. So, the main precious metals’ prices are mixed this morning.

Friday’s Michigan Sentiment release has been lower than expected at 77.9. Today, we will get the important Retail Sales release at 8:30 a.m., among others.
