Daily Silver News: April 16 – Silver Price Moving Higher

Silver is advancing as gold reaches new record highs above $3,300 mark.

The silver futures contract gained 0.40% on Tuesday, April 15, as it fluctuated following its last week’s advances. However, silver remianed relatively weaker than gold, moving along the $32 level. Last Monday, it rebounded from a new local low of $27.55. On March 28, silver reached the highest since 2012, however, remaining relatively weaker than gold.

Today, silver is moving higher after gold, as we can see on the daily chart (the chart includes today’s intraday data):

The silver price is 2.0% higher, as it is trading along the $32.90 level. What about the other precious metals? Gold is 2.3% higher, platinum is 0.3% higher and palladium is 0.2% lower. So, the main precious metals’ prices are higher this morning.

Today, we will get the important Retail Sales number at 8:30, and a speech from the Fed Chair Powell at 1:30 p.m., among others.
